OIEP Welcomes Criminology Graduate Students
The Office of International and Executive Programs (OIEP) organized a welcome reception on June 24, 2016 in honor of newly arrived students enrolled in the University of Maryland (UMD)-Nanjing Normal University joint Master's degree in Criminal Justice. In addition to the students, Professor James Lynch (chair of UMD's Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice), OIEP Director Mengxue Li, and OIEP staff also participated in the event.
The reception featured brief remarks by Professor Lynch, Professor Li, and OIEP manager Lisa Chen, food, spirited conversation, and singing by students and OIEP staff.
Following a brief period of personal and academic orientation to acculturate themselves to their new living and study environments, the OIEP-sponsored criminology students will commence work on group presentations, which they will eventually deliver before a panel of UMD faculty led by Professor Lynch.
