OIEP Supports Asian Heritage Event Patronized by Maryland's First Lady
OIEP Director Mengxue Li participated in an event held on May 5, 2016 in honor of Asian Heritage Month. Attended by members of the Maryland Governor's Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs and convened in Cecil County's seat of government in Elkton, MD, the function was patronized by Maryland's First Lady Yumi Hogan and Secretary of State John C. Wobensmith.

The evening's proceedings featured remarks by Mrs. Hogan, Mr. Wobensmith, and members of the Governor's Commission on Asian Pacific American Affairs, including Commission member and event chair and sponsor Mie Mie Joe Strickler. Following the program of speeches, attendees enjoyed the opportunity to discover and explore Asian and Asian Pacific American arts, resources and cuisine.
