The Law School of Nanjing Normal University (NNU) held a welcome reception on September 17, 2020 in honor of students newly enrolled in the UMD-NNU joint Master's degree in Criminal Justice, a program managed at UMD by the Office of International and Executive Programs (OIEP).
The admission of a 2020-2021 cohort—despite extraordinarily challenging circumstances—was made possible thanks to the professionalism and flexibility of stakeholders at NNU and UMD. Close cooperation between the two universities, built up over nearly twenty years, enabled the criminal justice program to enroll a new cohort that is equal in size to last year's group.
During the welcome reception, Zhijun Yan (director of NNU's Office of International Affairs) and Daotong Cai (dean of NNU's Law School) both delivered remarks. OIEP Director Mengxue Li—who typically travels to Nanjing to represent the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS) at the inauguration of a program cohort—sent a message that was read on his behalf. Two student representatives, one from the new cohort and one from last year's group, also spoke.
If all goes according to plan, BSOS and OIEP look forward to greeting members of the 2020-2021 cohort at UMD in June 2021!
