OIEP Welcomes UMD-NNU Criminal Justice Cohort (2016-2017)
The Office of International and Executive Programs (OIEP) organized a welcome reception on June 23, 2017 in honor of newly arrived students enrolled in the University of Maryland (UMD)-Nanjing Normal University joint Master's degree in Criminal Justice.
In addition to the students and OIEP staff, Dean Jeffrey Franke (UMD Graduate School), Associate Dean Wayne McIntosh (College of Behavioral and Social Sciences), Professor James Lynch (outgoing chair of the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice), Professor Sally Simpson (incoming chair of the Department of Criminology and Criminal Justice), and Ms. Megan Elinor Van Son (Graduate School) also participated in the event.
Following a brief period of personal and academic orientation to acculturate themselves to their new living and study environments, the OIEP-sponsored criminology students will commence work on group presentations, which they will eventually deliver before a panel of UMD faculty led by Professor Lynch.
