A delegation from the Ministry of Planning of Bangladesh visited the University of Maryland (UMD) on March 12, 2018 to discuss issues of mutual concern with Dean Gregory Ball and other representatives of the College of Behavioral and Social Sciences (BSOS), including Associate Dean Wayne McIntosh and Assistant Dean Kim Nickerson.
Ministry of Planning officials delivered the first in a series of reciprocal briefings, outlining their department's core mission, organizational structure, and supervisory relationship with other Bangladeshi ministries.
Mengxui Li, director of the Office of International and Executive Programs (OIEP)—who also serves as BSOS Principal Dean for International Affairs—and OIEP staff responded by emphasizing the keen interest of BSOS and OIEP in cultivating international partnerships, particularly in the field of short-term training.
OIEP and Management Training International, an international consultancy headquartered in Bangladesh, co-organized the visit by the delegation to UMD.
